NANCY

Nancy is set in Plymouth in 1945, as Nancy Astor's 26 years as the city's MP draw to a close.
Nancy believes she is preparing to fight, and win, another general election. What she doesn't know is that her husband, Waldorf, and others close to her have already begun making plans to bring her political career to an end.
The play explores what happens when a woman who has spent much of her political life fighting for her place in a world discovers that the people she trusts most are deciding her future without her.
Set in post-war Britain but contemporary in its concerns, Nancy explores the private tensions beneath a public life: marriage, power, ageing, loyalty and ambition, and the painful question of who gets to decide when someone's time is up.
